A Note on AI: Not a single word of this guide was generated by AI. I didn't feed existing circadian health content into a tool and have it synthesized for me. Everything here was written entirely by hand over the course of multiple years—drawn from my own knowledge, training, and lived health experience.

“Nobody has to tell a wild plant, bacteria, insect, fish, bird, or mammal what to eat to sustain health, how to self-medicate to recover from disease, or how to develop and reproduce.” — Fred Provenza
After more than ten years of chronic health issues, hunting for answers to feel better via traditional Western medicine, and later spending tens of thousands of dollars on everything from functional medicine (lab work, mortgage-sized supplement regimens, etc.) to biological dentistry, I finally stumbled upon “quantum health,” otherwise and often called “quantum” or “circadian biology” or “circadian health.” Its central tenets revolve around four basic things: Light, Water, Electrons, and Mitochondria.
Those don’t need to mean anything to you to deeply impact your health. But at its core, the most simplistic way to describe what circadian biology reveals is that humans evolved outside with nature’s environmental signals—particularly natural light, clean, flowing water, skin touching the earth, food that was within reach, and much more that modern life has taken us away from. Our mitochondria, then, can be thought of as our evolutionary “environmental sensors,” picking up these signals and dictating how our body responds to them.
Therefore, provide your mitochondria the proper environmental signals, and keep disease at bay.
Give them improper signals, and disease runs rampant while aging accelerates.
So, while most health and medical advice in modern life centers around either genetic “bad luck” or band-aid “solutions” that merely camouflage or even create new symptoms rather than solve the underlying issues causing them, circadian health has uncovered that you actually have a great deal of control over your health if you learn to use the environmental signals found in nature, or you learn how to mimic what happens outdoors in your indoor environment by using various tools. It means (most of) you are not damned by some pre-determined genetic destiny and that you can, instead, truly learn how to feel better and stay healthy. Often, with some remarkably simple and free or inexpensive changes, even if members of your family all seem to suffer from similar illnesses. Chances are, it’s not “genetic,” so much as it’s passing on their mitochondria to you (you inherit your mother’s mitochondria), and/or the fact that you have all lived in similar environmental “signals,” including similar traumas.
This is not a form of victim blaming. Knowing that you’re more in control of your health doesn’t mean you haven’t tried (sometimes damn hard), or that you’re at “fault” for your current state of health. More often than not, even the highest realms of science haven’t been aware of or have actively denied the truth of one critical thing:
